From a small town distillery using corn grown on their farm in the rolling hills of New York and sourcing the rest of the grains locally within 15 miles. This is a bourbon for the true bourbon lover.
With a mashbill of 70% corn 25% rye and 5% malted barley, this resinates with a legacy brand bourbon but has elevated flavors. Using the New York limestone water sourced right on property the flavors shine like no other.
Sitting at 128 proof in the barrel currently this high proof easy sipper is the next bottle that will fully surprise you. Barreled 6/25/18 this will end up being just a few weeks short of 8 years but will not let you down on the amount of flavor packed into the single barrel.
Taconic bourbon notes:
Nose - Fresh baked bread with toasted oats and underlying earthy tones, a nice caramel and vanilla sweetness can also be picked up leaning into the traditional bourbon notes we have come to love.
Palate - Warming, earthy with sweet corn, light fruit, and sweet vanilla. Some faint toffee and molasses can also be tasted. With a medium finish that has a lingering sweetness to round off a solid sip. Drinking a little below its proof some very light spice is present.
